Utah Historical Facts, Housing Data and Demographics

Utah, host city for the 2002 winter Olympic games, occupies approximately 85,000 square miles in the mid west and was admitted to the Union in 1896. According to the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau survey, the population was estimated to be 2,763,885 and the 2010 homeownership rate was reported to be 72.5% as compared to the national average of 66.9%. The median value of owner-occupied housing units in 2009 was estimated at $224,700.
