Utah, host city for the 2002 winter
Olympic games, occupies approximately 85,000 square miles in the mid west and was admitted to the Union in 1896.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population estimate was 2,550,063 in 2006. According to U.S. Census Bureau statistical
estimates, the housing units in 2005 totaled 873,097 and the 2000 homeownership rate was 71.5% compared to a national average of 66.2%.
The Median value of owner-occupied housing units in 2000 was estimated at $146,100.
