Union in 1912, is approximately 121,000 square miles in area bordering
Mexico on the southwest corner. The 2010 U.S. Census Bureau survey
estimated the population of New Mexico to be
2,059,179.
The
home ownership rate in 2010 was reported to be 68.6%, slightly higher than the national average of 66.9%.
The median value of owner-occupied housing units in 2009 was
reported to be $160,900 or slightly
below the national average of $185,200.
