Nevada, a mountain state, is approximately 110,000 square miles in area and is located in the west central part of the U.S. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the housing units totaled 1,019,427 in 2005 and the home ownership rate in 2000 was 60.9% in contrast to a national average of 66.2%. The Median value of owner-occupied housing units in 2000 was reportedly $142,000.
