The Denver Art Museum, Denver Botanical Gardens and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science are three attractions
tourists visiting Denver won't want to miss.
The Denver Art Museum features a collection of Western and regional
works as its cornerstone. The museum’s collections include more than 60,000 works of art. These collections
include African, American Indian, Asian, European, Western American, Spanish Colonial, Pre-Columbian, Oceanic and
Modern and Contemporary art works.
The Denver Botanical Gardens exhibits include twenty-three acres of outdoor and indoor gardens
displaying plants native to the desert, plains, mountain foothills, and alpine zones. There's a traditional Japanese
garden, herb garden, water garden, fragrance garden, and a garden inspired by the art of Monet. Even in
winter, the dome-shaped, concrete-and-Plexiglas Conservatory houses thousands of species of tropical and
subtropical plants.
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science features an extensive collection of gems and minerals, a pair of Egyptian mummies
and an outstanding fossil collection. This museum focuses on six areas of science which are anthropology, health science,
geology, paleontology, space science, and zoology. Some of the more popular exhibitions include the "Space Odyssey"
which relates contemporary stories of space exploration, the "Prehistoric Journey" which traces the history of
life on earth through 3.5 billion years and the "Hall of Life" which focuses on the science of the human body.
