On July 22, the developer GuocoLand will be launching Martin Modern, a luxury project in the Robertson Quay area. Martin Modern will be the first major luxury condominium, in the last eight years, to be launched in the Robertson Quay area. Some of the major amenities located in the area are numerous cafes, restaurants, and bars in River Valley, as well as the Fort Canning and soon to be completed Great World MRT stations.
There will be 450 residential units in Martin Modern. The units will be of mixed sizes such as 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, and 4-bedroom apartments as well as 2-bedroom plus study room apartments. These units will be 764-1,798 sq ft.
Martin Modern was designed by Yip Yuen Hong, four times winner of President’s Design Award. Good Class Bungalows and the Botanic Gardens have inspired Martin Modern designs. The EC project will be built on the 1.6-hectare site. Just about 80 percent of the site will be green and garden spaces. The top of each block in Martin Modern will have a “secret garden.”
“We are trying to redefine the present day luxury living,” said GuocoLand Singapore’s Group Managing Director Cheng Hsing Yao. “We are inspired by a Good Class Bungalow’s living experiences. Ours is a modern condominium in a riverside neighborhood,”
When the site went for auction in June 2016, the leasing was highly contested. A total of 13 developers had submitted a tender proposal. However, the project was awarded to GuocoLand when it offered the top bid of S$595.1 million.
